This book concentrates on the scientific principles and practices of organic farming, not horticulture, in Britain in the early 1990's. It explains arable and livestock production techniques and draws on mainly European examples. It should be of interest to farmers, advisers, researchers and students and contains an extensive bibliography. At 700 pages it is not light reading!

With this book I was able to get a lot of information in great detail more than I was expecting. There's a environmental impact of organic farming in the Livestock Husbandry and much more. All though it's written to provide nationally agreed standards; (UKROFS) United Kingdom Register of Organic Food Standards. It's a very good recourse and informational book to have or to reference to. Advanced reading College level 700 pages
